February is the month for love and great love stories!
On Friday, February 28th, Theatre on the Ridge is pleased to bring back Mary’s Wedding, by Stephen Massicotte, for a special one night enhanced staged reading at the Scugog Memorial Public Library. Through vivid and poetic language, Mary’s Wedding tells the poignant story of Mary and Charlie, who discover a charming first love, filled with innocence and humour, but the year is 1914 and the world is collapsing into a brutal war.
Returning to read in this special presentation, are Duncan Gibson-Lockhart and Manon Ens-Lapointe, the original cast members of Theatre on the Ridge’s 2017 powerful production of this popular Canadian play. Proceeds from the evening will support the Theatre on the Ridge Festival 2020 summer theatre season.
The performance takes place at 7 pm in the Rotary Community Room of the Scugog Memorial Public Library at 231 Water St., Port Perry. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.
Preferred advanced seating is available online for $25/ticket, but tickets will also be sold at the door for $20, subject to availability. Purchase advanced seats online here.
